Jeep Cherokee
The first SUV prototype was the GAZ M-72 Pobeda, which was built between 1955 and 1958. It had a unibody design with a front engine compartment and a rear passenger/cargo area. The vehicle was built to be used by farmers. It was later used by the military. In the early 1950s, the US military needed large vehicles for off-roading. In response, Toyota created the Toyota Land Cruiser. It had a large, rugged interior and 4-wheel drive. It was used by the Japanese National Police Agency and the US military.
Before the first SUV, the GAZ-61-73 was a military-style car. It could seat five people and even have room for Mosin-Nagant rifles. The 3.5-liter in-line six-cylinder engine was capable of 85 hp. It reached a top speed of 107 km/h.
Cadillac Escalade
The Cadillac Escalade is one of the most prestigious vehicles on the road today. Its sleek and upscale design is reminiscent of a luxury car, and it has a large interior and spacious back seat. This cuts weight by approximately one thousand pounds, and the XJ was 21 inches shorter and seven inches wider than its predecessor, the SJ Cherokee.
